See how we seized 7 hours in Bacolod...
CAMPUESTOHAN HIGHLAND RESORT
CAMPUESTOHAN HIGHLAND RESORT
We arrived at around 8:30 am in Bacolod. Then, took off for Campuestohan at around 9 am, after taking breakfast at Merzci. It took us about 1 hour to arrive here.
ENTRANCE AREA
Doing touristy things, huh. At our back is the restaurant pavilion.
The entrance fee is 150 pesos each.
For other rates, visit their site
The resort has a lot of attractions! Like, this giant chess.
(Okeh, pretentious lang kami na marunong mag chess, for the gram!)
Plus, a lot of picture-worthy spots. Brace yourselves for more pictures!
It was a bit gloomy and cold, though. It even drizzled. Good thing, it did not lead to a heavy rain.
With Ainnabels, our tourist guide, kidding.
ROOMS
The resort offers unique rooms for you to stay in.
This is the Bonita Hut, which I believe, inspired by the Hobbit.
The fog is covering the mountain :-(
If you want to stay in a teepee hut, then, the Indian Village is the place for you.
There are other 2 lodging: The King Kong room and the Log Cabin.
FACILITIES
The team of Kung Fu Panda
King Kong roars!
Role play, role play! Haha!
Role play again!
Okay, back to reality, haha!
The carousel ride
3D Painting
We called this the house where Goldilocks sneaked in.
The resort has many rides. I took only a picture of this: the Hamster Wheel.
Fact: there are about 11 rides to enjoy here! But, we did not try even one, because we were short in time. Anyways, click here to discover the other rides.
The Hanging Bridge
The bridge from an another angle
The view you get from the bridge, including the first photo of this blog.
The resort has a lot to offer and it would be best if you'll stay here for a night. It's also a great place to bond with your family or your barkada. It was very bitin for we only spent 1 hour and 30 minutes here, because we had to go back to Iloilo in the afternoon.
Nevertheless, I still had so much fun strolling around and just seeing the people enjoy made us feel their happiness, too. Surely, we took a lot of pictures to seize the moment.
I will surely come back and stay longer.
Carry on!
THE TAJ MAHAL OF THE PHILIPPINES
Next, we travelled to The Ruins for 30-40 minutes.
We paid 40 pesos each (students' discount) for the entrance fee, and 20 pesos for the parking fee.
The Ruins is really a beaut!
The Ruins is an ancestral mansion of a wealthy man, Don Lacson. It was burned down by American colonial masters to prevent its use by the Japanese military. However, the mansion survived somehow, right? Even if it got ruined, it is still very beautiful.

Feeling mga Juliet lang oh!
Reading information about The Ruins...
There is this famous glass table where tourists put the camera on to get the reflection of the Ruins.
They suggest the best time to visit The Ruins is during late afternoon, during sunset, and also, the place can be booked for special events. My old soul was very happy because The Ruins surely made me feel transported back in time.
So, let's sum it up:
9 - 10:00 : Travel to Campuestohan
10:00 - 11:30 : Campuestohan Tour
11:30 - 12:00 : Travel to the Ruins
12:00 - 1:00 : The Ruins Tour
1:00 - 1:30 : Travel back to the Bacolod City (SM Bacolod)
1: 30 - 3:00 : SM Window Shopping, haha!
3:00 - 4:30 : Pasalubong haul at Merczi and tambay sa port
4:30 : Travel back to Iloilo City
A very relevant tip:
Make sure you buy Napoleones and Butterscotch!!!
"Napoleones is a well-known Bacolod delicacy usually served as a dessert and a popular pasalubong among tourists. Napoleones is a layered puff pastry filled with custard cream and glazed with white sugar sauce on top." (description and photo from escooped.com)
I swear, guys, this is something YOU MUST BUY! ONLY IN BACOLOD! What's sad about it is that, it has to be consumed in a week or else, it expires. I brought this as a pasalubong, but I ended up eating most of it.
This butterscotch is very yummy! MUST-EAT, MUST-BUY, MUST-PASALUBONG! Since this is rarely found in our hometown, CDO, I made sure to make every bite count. Huhu! I miss.
QUESTION AND ANSWER:
photo from foodtripdumaguete.wordpress.com
How did we get there from Iloilo City
- We rode a fast craft at the port for Iloilo to Bacolod (1 to 2 hours)
- Fare: 210 pesos (Student Discount: present ID)
- Terminal Fee: 24 pesos
- Back and forth: 468 pesos/pax
What did we ride as we toured around
- We rented a taxi for pesos for 1,500 pesos.
As we were only there for 7 hours, I can't say anything that much, but I can only say that the 2 tourist spots make me wanna go back soon and explore more of Bacolod's wonders. Again, I want to thank my dearest friends, for making my 2017 birthday trip, a very memorable one.
THAT'S A WRAP!

Great photos! If it's not too much to ask, what equipment/s and editing software/s did you use? Also, maybe you could incorporate details on your OOTD on to the next feature. ❤
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The camera I'm using is canon750d, and lightroom for editing :)
DeleteAte hannah, how did you start making a blog? I was inspired by you and I want to make a blog too. Though, I have mine when I was in grade 12 only then I forgot my password.
ReplyDeleteDear! I hope I did not reply very late. Start signing up at any blogging sites, for beginners: blogger.com is recommended. It took me a while customizing this, and I know I still have a lot to improve on, but with patience and perseverance, we'll get there! :) The key is to start now (anything under the sun) and the rest will follow.
