10 Instagram-Worthy Spots in LDCU + Ukay Ukay Haul

Summer class. I find it somehow tiring.  Yet, the fact that I will receive allowance every day, makes it much better. Aye? Aye! I rather go to school this summer than do nothing at home.  Well, I may not be taking photos at Siargao, Camiguin, Cebu or wherever (the truth is, there's really no budget, lol) but instead, I am doing my summer goals in school.  See how I seize my summer class as me and my friend, Reyna, search for Ten (10) intagram-worthy spots in Liceo U.

At the same time, I will also share to you some of our ukay ukay finds, which are our ootd's in each spot.

Scroll down...

FIRST SPOT: The Acacia Tree, by the riverside.

If you want to be nature ish, then this spot is recommended for you.

ATTIRE:
  • Reyna (left) Yellow shirt with rose patches = 5 pesos & black pants = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 15
  • Hannah (me) Yellow polo = 3.33 pesos (because, it's 3 for 10 pesos, lol) & long white tennis skirt = 15 pesos TOTAL: P 18
Fun Fact: I've been enrolled in LDCU since Grade 1, which sums up almost 14 years of stay in this university, and truly, I can call it "home."

SECOND SPOT: The Riverside's Flood Wall

This spot is suitable if you are wearing a street wear and if you go for basic backgrounds.

ATTIRE:
  • Hannah (me) Ringer shirt (brand: polo) = 3.33 pesos (because, it's 3 for 10 pesos) & frayed denim jeans = 25 pesos TOTAL: P 28
  • Reyna (right) Nude blouse= 5 pesos & denim jumper = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 15
THIRD SPOT: The Heritage Building

The spot for some retro or vintage look

This building is one of the oldest and first buildings of the school.  I could truly say that I'm thankful that the school has preserved this building because it gives us a sense of appreciating history.

Friendly Advice: this building consists of classrooms, so make sure you don't disturb any classes, if you wish to take a photo :)

ATTIRE:

  • Hannah (me) Peach polo = 3.33 pesos (it's 3 for 10 pesos) & Maroon velvet button-down skirt = 10 pesos TOTAL: P13
  • Reyna (right) Nude polo = 5 pesos & brown skirt = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 15
ONTO THE 4TH SPOT!!!

FOURTH SPOT: Arts and Sciences Building's Ramp

This spot is for denim and white ootd's since the building itself is painted blue and white.

Tip: For a gram worthy photo, make sure your attire fits with your background.  Blend in!

ATTIRE:
  • Reyna (left) White polo = 5 pesos & mom jeans = 60 pesos TOTAL: P 65
  • Hannah (me) Blue polo = 3.33 pesos (yas, it's 3 for 10 pesos!) & LEE frayed denim jeans = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 13
Fun Fact: I saw the LEE frayed jeans from a distance, and I immediately went and grabbed it.  Sometimes, ukay ukay is really fun because it feels like you're in a race with the other people.

FIFTH SPOT: Fire Exit

Don't take a picture if there's an emergency. (Of course) Another friendly note: be careful here.

ATTIRE:
  • Hannah (me) Pink ringer shirt = 10 pesos & pink slacks (super comfy) = 10 pesos       TOTAL: P 20
  • Reyna (right) Black suit = 10 pesos & skinny jeans = 60 pesos TOTAL: P 70
SIXTH SPOT: Rodelsa Hall Stairway

The ever iconic and elegant stairs! The Rodelsa hall is really a place where proper attire and behavior must be observed.

ATTIRE:
  • Reyna (left) White 3/4 blouse= 5 pesos & orange-brownish pencil skirt = 5 pesos TOTAL: P 10
  • Hannah (me) Nude suit = 20 pesos & nude slacks = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 30
Tip: White or black always goes perfectly with nude or brown.

SEVENTH SPOT: Main Grounds

Actually, I didn't know the name of this area so I made it up. This is where the chapel, benches, a lot of trees and plants are.  Left photo was taken outside the library (still within the main grounds) and the right photos are taken in the forest. Kidding. Still within the area, near the library.

ATTIRE:
  • Hannah (me) Printed long-sleeved top = 3 pesos & black slacks = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 13 (Lakas maka tita attire)
  • Reyna (left) Pink bell-sleeved top = 5 pesos & mom jeans = 35 pesos TOTAL: P 40
EIGHTH SPOT: SAC Grounds

This is outside the South Academic Cluster (SAC).  This area is still by the river, near the chapel.  It's one of the go-to places in the school if you just want to take a short break and be one with nature.

NINTH SPOT: Hallway

Of course, we should not forget the hallway.  It is somehow inspired with the European architecture.

ATTIRE:
  • Reyna (left) Gray shirt = 5 pesos
  •  Hannah (me) Gray polo= 10 pesos and nude pants = 10 pesos TOTAL: P 20
TENTH SPOT: Rodelsa Grounds

The last spot, but definitely not the least!  I've reserved the tenth spot for the Rodelsa Grounds.  Did you know that, according to clix.com, Rodelsa Hall is the main venue for performing arts in Cagayan de Oro City and Southern Philippines.  Truly, the Rodelsa Hall makes me a proud Licean.

Tip: When it's your graduation day, take a picture here with your toga.  It will surely be a memorable photo! And I can't wait for my graduation next year *fingers crossed*

Also, a glimpse of what's inside the hall is in the sixth spot.

THAT'S A WRAP!

I grew up buying branded stuff, or I think, I was just pressured because I grew up having "laysho" classmates. Yet, as I entered my college years, I tried ukay-ukay, which led me to an interest of doing it more often.  Sometimes, me and my friend, Reyna, go together in doing it.  It's really fun, especially when you can find some branded clothes.  Honestly though, I could say that in ukay-ukay, you can also find stuff which are better than branded.

The point is, it doesn't have to be always branded.  If you wear clothes with confidence, then you will slay. Most importantly, no matter what, always wear something comfortable.  Don't try too much wearing clothes you're uncomfortable with.  Comfort + Confidence makes your style nicer.

To the Liceans who are able to read this, I hope I have shared to you the sense of appreciation of how nice our school campus is.

Don't let your ootd go to waste.  Take a picture of it.  Believe me, wherever you may be, there will always be a gram-worthy spot.  Find it.  It only takes creativity, patience, and a good camera.  Lastly, Angle angle lang 'yan!

radiating sunshine, Hannah Borja

Ps Those are just 10 spots, but I'm sure, there's a lot more!

BONUS SPOT: Riverside, NAC grounds, during sunset
