Sometimes, when words are not enough to express how and what we feel, we get rescued by songs. Here are some lines from some songs that have kept me going, my go-to-playlist when I'm down 🎵
1. Seasons by Hillsong Worship
Such a promising song that the Lord is in constant work in our lives, season by season. It assures us that every season is made for a purpose to help us get prepared for the next one. Like, how God really empties us in one season, in order for us to be filled fully in the next season. If God is not done working, then don't stop waiting.
2. Highlands (Song of Ascent) by Hillsong United
This song reminds me to praise God even when the mountains are still on its way. I know, I believe that God can move mountains, but we do not just worship Him when it's already done. We worship Him even when we're still in the valleys, for whatever we walk through, wherever we are, His name can move mountains, wherever we stand.
3. Seasons by Renee Dominique
This song! It can calm you so much. Such a beautiful line "You'll get out of your winter soon." Truly, we have our own winter, then when we're finally over it; it's gonna be our spring. Though, the concept goes the same with the 1st song, but this is still something different. Listen to this song! :)
4. Good Grace by Hillsong United
This song speaks strongly and directly to my heart, especially that line above. This song can ease your anxiety, your worries. It reminds us to redirect ourselves to the One who can help us the most.
5. Fear is a Liar by Zach Williams
When it was my board exam season, I played this song a couple of times to kill all the doubts and fears in me.
6. Giants Fall by Francesca Battistelli
This song speaks when we we feel so little of ourselves. When listening to this, line by line, I would be assured that I have a very big God who can make even the giants fall. Nothing can stand in our way for with God anything is possible.
7. Even when it hurts by Hillsong United

When I was graduating,I had this song on loop! Because it speaks so much on the decision to still see the positive side, to still continue persevering and most especially, to still praise Him even if I didn't understand what was going on.
8. Desert Song by Hillsong Worship
This song made me more confident in believing that the victory is already prepared for me, in God's name. This song also relays a message, that at times when we are at a stage of dryness in all aspects in our lives, we have to claim and declare that there's victory at the end. That being in the desert will soon be replaced with a joyous harvest.
9. Vienna by Billy Joel
And this! One of my favorite songs. This song is a good reminder for those who are rushing things. It tells us to just slow down, because we have our own time. For if we always try to do many things, in so little time, we might fall into the tendency of missing out what really matters. The process didn't promise us that it'll be quick, but it promises us that every step has a purpose.
10. Unfinished by Mandisa
Lastly, this song assures you that we are an unfinished work. So, it's okay to fail in between. It's okay to get tired in between. As long as you get up again, and believe that "he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil 1:6 - and when God says "it's time" then it's time. Nevertheless, I'd like you to remember that you are a beautiful work in progress.
Thank you, Hannah. Your posts are very inspiring, especially this one. Hoping to see another post. Been a while since your last.

ReplyDeleteYou've been one of my inspirations for the past 8 years, ever since I met you. Take care always. Just being able to see you from afar or on social media is more than enough for me; it brightens my day. Sadly, it's been a while since I've seen you. I believe you're doing great. May you continue to serve God, and may the desires of your heart be fulfilled. God bless you and your family, Han!
