The Lowkey Christmas we all needed

12/25/20 - I woke up to a rainy Christmas morning from a peaceful and happy Christmas Eve sleep. It made me think - oh this was the day we've all been waiting for, but the clouds seemed to be sad, but I noticed that joy was very present that day.

With everything that have happened this year, for sure, we were able to ask ourselves "how are we gonna spend Christmas?" Some big gatherings were not pushed through. Well, some may have still held a small physical gathering - but we can't deny all the consciousness running in our minds. Thoughts like "Is this really safe?" And many other things that have been cancelled - from trips to other usual things we used to do every holidays.
As I was preparing myself for this year's Christmas, I realized that this was the lowkey Christmas we [might] all needed.  It was the lowkey Christmas we all needed because it made us realize and remember who the real reason for the season is. He was able to shine more this year, because the preparations got simpler.

We gave room for understanding that it's actually okay not to do these things:
-Giving [grand] presents
-Hopping from one Christmas party to another
-Traveling to seize the holidays
-and so much more

I thank God that after all that has happened this year, we were somehow reinforced to look into the simpler way of life, and postpone the busy things that usually covered up the season. As for me, this year's Christmas was a lot more different, but I chose not to have it the other way around.

And so, I hope you were also able to come "home"
to the heart of Christmas this year- which is Christ.
That more than anything else,
It's Jesus' arrival whom we always hail.

I am glad that we still chose
to celebrate Christmas
because we have
remembered the truest reason
The savior that came
to us as an infant in that manger

It was the lowkey Christmas we all needed, to help us spend what Christmas truly is. It was the Christmas like never before. And in the next years to come, I hope you'll spend Christmas in the purest way still.

I hope and pray that you had a Merry Christmas!

Radiating Sunshine,
Hannah B 💛
